A taste of EUROPE in ASIA - Part 2 (Macau City Tour)

St. Paul Ruins

a shot from City of Dreams'  upper level

For first timers like us in Macau - it's really hard to go around if you do not know exactly where you'll go so if you have extra budget, I would suggest that you look for a Filipino Tourist Guide who can show you around.  In our case, we were able to meet KUYA JACOB - while we were in Macau Ferry Terminal the other day, he approached us and asked us if we'd like him to be our guide - we were a bit hesitant at first so I told him that we will just contact him if ever...

On our 3rd day, hubby and I decided that we'll contact kuya Jacob since it'll be easier for us that wasting our time looking for a certain attraction and asking people around who could barely understand English and at the same time, that'll be an extra income for our " kababayan "... Kuya Jacob charges MOP100 (Php 555) for adults and MOP50 kids - that's for the entire day of going around the City...
I called him and we set the meeting place at Macau Ferry Terminal.

We had our buffet breakfast first ( same food - but it's okay !! Who doesn't want free meal anyway :)..
then catch the shuttle going to the Ferry Terminal which usually starts at 9 AM...

while waiting for the shuttle

my Family < less one :(  we miss you Ally >

I forgot the name of the Mascot - "Dino???"

on our way to Venetian Resort -
so near yet so far... Venetian behind us :)

I will be posting more pix of Venetian resort on the last part of this blog :) it's a very nice place indeed.. but for now, let me show you the city of Macau :)  We were able to check in @ Venetian before 12NN - there's an available room so it was an early check in - Thank yoU (Ms. Lala Cuenca - muwahhh )

First Stop we had was the City of Dreams - Kuya Jacob knows the in and out of the City --- he knows where the free shuttles are so we didn't spend a single centavo for our transportation. Also, he showed us the different attractions / "gimik" per hotel / casino and the first stop was the City of Dreams... just across Venetian..

peechure peechure :)

this is where we're headin'

Chow Time

my fave kainan :)

They serve Grilled Chicken Burger here and it's good :) As for me, of course my all time fave Cheeseburger meal... Althea doesn't drink softdrinks so we were expecting that we would spend much on her H2Os! but Kuya Jacob is so resourceful... he excused himself and when he returned there are bottles of water from the casino.. hehe..

TIP:  another tip - feel free to ask for water (or hard drink when inside) they're free flowing :) and a lot of "kabayan" too :) so, free water everywhere hehe

We waited for few more minutes for the show (was it called Bubble show? sorry, again poor memory - but it was about a dragon and a tiger :) Once you step inside there's no chair  , people will be watching the show standing... the effects were astounding , it's like one room with LCD walls in it...

i know I.m supposed to show tiger and dragon...

but I can't find the pix ... :(

It was a great show... minutes standing was all worth it :) - - - and did I mention that this show is ABSOLUTELY FREE ? yup..it's free , After the show.. we walk around and take more pix.. pix ...pix...

Next Stop :  Ruins and Senado Square -  again, Kuya Jacob knows where to go... from City of Dreams we went to the drop off point of the shuttles -

this is where you wait for your free ride

City of Dreams Shuttle
We passed by a couple of hotels like the one in Emperor where Jackie Chan's gold bars are...

Finally....
There's a small museum at the back - go and take a look it's free also :) You'll find some remains of the priest...

Since you're already here... don't miss their famous egg tarts and jerky :) Yummy indeed..
Egg tarts ranges from MOP 5- MOP 7 a piece depending on the size - Jerky @ 40-50 MOP a pound.

free taste of Jerky everywhere :)

she likes the spicy beef jerky

Next Stop :  Wynn Hotel  - for the fountain show... again, our resourceful guide knows the "free-way" to get there... it's a bit tiring coz you really have to walk for long hours but the weather is sooooo great so we were able to enjoy every minute of it :)

one of the stores we passed by

Dairy Queen - Free Taste.. anyone? Yum yum!

antique shop ?

care for a frap in this kind o' weather ?
on our way back..Ryan decided to buy a memory card for his DSLR so we stopped at Fortress and my little girl was sooooo kulit that she's like to take a picture of me using dad's camera - -  a couple of customer from the stores took a picture of Althea as she holds the camera like a pro ( "oh look at the girl she's so cute - taking a picture" hehe ... and the results are....

PACK UP! Let's go to our last stop : Wynn Hotel...going to Wynn, we also passed by Star World Hotel where you'll again see a lot of our kababayans as high as what? 5 feet 8 inches or sooo... they are so tall :) and pretty pinay of course :)

woah.. half lang si Althea

Galaxy - to be opened April 2011 - beside Venetian

Now the rest of the photos will be the one taken at Wynn - we were supposed to watch 2 shows at Wynn - but the schedule was changed to 8 pm... so it's just the fountain show that we saw.  By the way this fountain show is every 15 minutes - what's the song from Pocahontas? Colors of the Wind??? Here you'll hear.. Colors of the WYNN  - hehe

Wynn Hotel

I love this  white top :)

inside Wynn Hotel
Some of the shops you'll find inside Wynn - - again... there's nothing I can take with me but pictures :)

That covered our 3rd day in Macau... so tiring but it was fun :)

We just can't keep our excitement to spend the night in our Venetian's suite ... which will be on my next post ...

If you're interested of contacting kuya Jacob while in Macau  - here is his number :  +85366545798

Kuya Jacob charged us only MOP100 per head and my daughter's free - - but since he was so kind we gave the MOP50 as his bonus :) Thanks Kuya Jacob - until next trip :)
